POLICY REGARDING THE USE OF COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TOOLS

Last update: April 6th, 2022

Terms beginning with a capital letter refer to the definitions in the Personal Data Policy.

Articl 1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small alphanumeric file stored on the Device (computer, smartphone, tablet, mobile phone, etc.) of a User, hereinafter, “you”, while using a website. For simplicity’s sake, the term cookies here refers to all forms of tracking tools likely to collect information about your navigation from your device (tags, tracking tools, http cookies, etc.).

Article 2. Is your consent necessary?

Before installing or reading a cookie which:

  • is not necessary for supplying the service you are looking for;

or

  • does not allow/facilitate electronic communication,

The website publishers must:

  • inform the User of the purpose of the cookies;
  • obtain consent from the User;
  • supply a means for the User to withdraw this consent.

This consent remains valid for a period of thirteen (13) months.

Article 3. Why does Louvre Hotels Group use cookies?

This website was designed with your needs in mind. For this reason, Louvre Hotels Group uses cookies to optimize your experience on our website.

Louvre Hotels Group uses the following types of cookies:

  • Cookies necessary for our service or communication with you: these make the website usable by enabling basic functions such as page navigation, session identification and access to secure areas of our website. The website cannot function correctly without these cookies, which predominantly allow us to:
    • facilitate your navigation on our websites;
    • manage your authentication on the websites;
    • identify you during a visit;
    • memorize your identifiers, if you have an account on one of our websites.
  • Preferences cookies: these allow the website to remember information that modifies the manner in which the website behaves or is displayed, such as your preferred language or the region in which you are located.
  • Analytics cookies: these help the website publisher to understand how visitors interact with the website by collecting and reporting information anonymously.
  • Marketing cookies: these are used to display targeted advertising on our websites, to carry out User follow-up across various websites in order to offer relevant ads which match the User’s interests, as well as for measuring the performance of our advertising campaigns.

If you do not consent to the installation of these cookies, some ads displayed for you may be less relevant.

We use partners such as Facebook, Google or Criteo (exhaustive list available in the consent management tool) for cookies necessary for our marketing activities, which help us to customize the ads you receive. If you consent, these partners may collect this data or activate their cookies on our websites in order to install them in your device. We therefore allow you to:

Cookies from third parties not controlled by Louvre Hotels Group may thus be installed on your browser. You can give or withdraw your consent using our consent management tool. For further information, we invite you to consult the confidentiality policy specific to these third parties issuers (see Article 7: User cookie settings).

The information collected is for the exclusive use of the Louvre Hotels Group and its partners.

Article 4. Can cookies be used to identify me?

Cookies installed in connection with the use of the website do not directly allow you to be personally identified. They allow you to record information about the navigation of your Terminal on the website, which Louvre Hotels Group will be able to read during your subsequent visits to the website.

Article 5. How long do the cookies stay on my device?

Cookies remain on your Device for the duration of time spent on the website or for a period of thirteen (13) months from the moment they are first installed on your Device.

Once this period expires, the personal data collected through the cookies will be deleted.

Article 6. How can I refuse cookies? Manage cookies

Aside from the strictly necessary cookies, the tracking activity of a cookie on a Device requires your consent, which may be given and modified at any time via the various options offered.

If you have accepted the recording of cookies on your Device, the cookies installed may be stored temporarily in a designated space on your Device. These can be read only by the issuer.

For cookies that are not exclusively for the purposes of allowing or facilitating navigation or are not strictly necessary for supplying services offered via the website, an information banner will appear during your first visit to the website informing you before the cookies are installed (1) of their presence and (2) allowing you, if desired, to refuse their installation on your Device.

There are several options for the User to refuse cookies:

  • Adjusting your browser’s cookie settings

The User may configure their web browser so that HTTP cookies are saved on their Device or, on the other hand, are refused either systematically or according to the issuer.

The User may also configure their web browser to occasionally prompt the User to accept or refuse cookies before they are saved onto the Device.

To manage cookies and cookie options, the settings for each browser are different. This is explained in the User’s browser help menu, which assists the User in knowing how to modify cookie preferences:

  • User cookie settings

Louvre Hotels Group invites you to consult the privacy policies of each of the following tracking tools, and if you wish, to exercise your rights to withdraw consent from them, in particular:

  • CNIL recommendations

The CNIL (Commission Nationale Informatique et Libertés [French data protection authority]) offers advice for limiting the tracking of your browser activity:

  • Blocking third-party cookies. Third-party cookies are not usually necessary for using resources available on the internet. If you wish to limit their tracking, it is recommended to refuse them by default.
  • Prevent installation of the most widely used trackers. There are numerous extensions that block several trackers. For example, DoNotTrackMe, Disconnect and Ghostery, etc. can be used for Chrome.
  • Blocking social network sharing options.
  • Limiting Adobe Flash cookies. It is recommended to change these settings by connecting to the settings manager accessible online, but although the Flash website allows you to deactivate in order to prevent storage on computers, it does not work 100% of the time. LSO or Flash cookies cannot be removed using the traditional manner of deleting cookies using your web browser. Instead of manually deleting LSO cookies, you can download an extension to your browser that will delete them each time you close your browser. For example, Betterprivacy does this for Firefox.

  • “Do Not Track” mechanism

You can also configure your browser so that it tells websites you visit that you do not wish to be tracked (a mechanism called “Do not track”).

You can also log onto the Youronlinechoices website, offered by digital advertising professionals of the European association EDAA (European Digital Advertising Alliance) and managed in France by the Interactive Advertising Bureau France.

You can also find the businesses registered on this platform offering you the option to refuse or accept the cookies used by these companies to customize the content and ads that may appear on your Device.

This European platform is shared by certain advertising professionals on the internet which provides a central forum for you to expressly refuse or accept cookies that may be used to customize the ads and content that appear on your Device. Please note that this may not prevent ads from websites that you visit from appearing. This will only block the technologies that customize ads based on your interests.

  • Website cookie settings

You can also refuse certain cookies by using a cookie management tool provided on our website.

Article 7. What are the consequences of changing my cookie settings?

We inform you of any changes made to your settings that may change your web browsing experience on the internet. Namely, access to certain services offered by the website that require the use of cookies and a certain number of functions necessary for browsing the website may not work properly (for example, you may be unable to save or display content).

If you change your cookie settings, Louvre Hotels Group shall not be liable in any way for any malfunctions you may experience.

Article 8. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

In addition to collecting tracking information, Louvre Hotels Group may process personal data about you during your interaction with the website (collection forms, bookings).
